Children's Mental Health Week 2024

Everyone at William Cobbett learnt the importance of looking after our mental health during Children's Mental Health Week (5th-9th February 2024). This year's theme was 'My Voice Matters'.

We had an assembly to launch the week and every year group did a variety of activities to help them think about what makes them special and how they can use their voices.

Ex William Cobbett pupil and member of Youth Parliament, Sammy Austen-Jones, spoke to Year 6 about how to use their voice positively within the local community.

The junior children designed spirals to show what was important to them in their lives and their environment and played Ping Pong with cups containing conversation starters such as 'If you were Prime Minister for the day, what would you do?'. 

The infant children read the book 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' by Charles Mackesy and then thought about what makes each of them special.
