Bastille Day theme day...breakfast, Eiffel Towel building, staff food tasting and more!
The whole school had a fabulous day on Friday 14th July celebrating Bastille Day with a day of learning about France, learning French and fun challenges such as building Eiffel Towers out of straws, all dressed in red, white and blue.
The morning started with a very popular breakfast sale of croissants, pain au chocolats and many more delicious items. A big thank you to Steve and Colette from Beagley's bakery across the road from school. As well as making a great start to the day, they have donated over £100 to the school. This was Steve and Colette's first venture as the new owners of Beagley's and I am sure we will work with them again in the future.
Madame Haynes, our KS2 French teacher, had a challenge for some of the staff in assembly - they displayed the school value of courage perfectly by trying something new...eating snails!
We even had a visit from Bastille the cockerel, who had changed quite a lot since Hedgehog class last saw him after hatching in their classroom just a few months ago!
